- Fuel tank brackets, tank fitting and joint plate
Ok
nothing new to be carried out today so I am just listing what went
on. Take a look at the right wing & fuel tank for further
details.
Once
again followed the Dan Checkoway method which worked so well the
last time. Good results again for this tank.
 |
Prep brackets and match drill
to spar (check Dan's site for hole distances) |
 |
Temporarily bolt them to spar |
 |
Install tank onto spar and use
straps to pull down into the correct position |
 |
Drill inner rib #30 holes |
 |
Remove leading edge and drill
outboard holes #40 |
 |
Remove skin and inside ribs
leaving both end ribs clecoed in place |
 |
Drill the remaining brackets |

The only other thing of note is that Team Spirit
has diminished somewhat in size as the shall we say 'more
experienced' members of the team have decided its way to cold to
join in !!!! So a mini
space heater has been purchased 34K BTU burning propane at 0.7KG
an hour. However it only needs to be running for 30mins and
we can take our jumpers off !!! I would say that for a full
days work its burning about 1.4Kg.

Now I just need to convince Team Spirit of the new
Mediterranean climate in the garage |
